Life transitions can be difficult to adapt and adjust to. New beginnings are full of unknown variables, making them fearful for many people to face.
Jeffrey Narcisse founded Mountain Movers U.S., based on the principle of focusing on people and helping them realize the importance of change, the positives that come along with it, and the new potential for growth. Rather than fearing the unknown, this company aims to help people embrace change in their lives and welcoming new beginnings with open arms.
Narcisse grew up in Somerville, Massachusetts, in the Mystic Housing Projects, where he was raised by his mother and grandmother. His parents were born and raised in Haiti, but his mother traveled to the US with Jeffery when he was young. Jeffery never had the opportunity to meet his father, as he stayed behind. Being raised by a single mother, life was never easy. His family struggled and worked hard for everything they earned, which was often, not very much at all.
Throughout his youth, he felt an inherent need and responsibility to provide for his mother and grandmother. He took the role of ‘man of the house’, as there was no other male figure to provide for the family. This was a heavy burden for a young man to bare, and so, he turned to his faith for guidance. Narcisse was always looking for crafty ways to earn money, until one da his pastor suggested that he start a moving company to support the demand in Boston. The seeds were planted that eventually grew to the Mountain Movers U.S.
Narcisse had never considered the path of entrepreneurship before. It never seemed like a real possibility, and was way too risky for someone that needed a steady source of income. However, being a man of God, he believed this idea came to him for a reason and decided to allow his faith to take the wheel, praying that God had a bigger plan for him.
Being a strong believer, Narcisse named his company based on Matthew 17:20:
“Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
With faith, anything can be accomplished, and what better founding principle for a young entrepreneur hoping to change the foundation of the traditional idea of change? Jeffrey was committed to creating a completely new moving experience, by supporting individuals physical and mental needs during their transition.
The Mountain Movers team is made up of Jeffery's friends and family. These were the people who, at one point or another, provided support and aid Jeffrey Narcisse when he was struggling to put food on the table for his family. Through focus, hard work, and determination, he was able to turn his life around and create a company that can now provide for those that once provided for him.
The team at Mountain Movers U.S. provide a complete experience for all of their clients, working to help with more than just moving boxes of belongings and furniture. They make sure the transitional periods of your life are full of positivity and support. They help you welcome your new beginnings, making sure you have not only the physical assistance, but the emotional aid during your transition. The team’s mission is to inspire their community and the people they help move, passing along a message of kindness and lending a helping hand when in need. They take a ‘business’ and turn it into a spiritual experience surrounded by community.
While it can be difficult to remain in one place and deal with your struggles and circumstances, it can be just as hard to find the strength needed to actually make a change. It takes a strong person to be able to choose a new direction and welcome all that comes with it. Once you’ve made the decision to make a change, Narcisse and his team want to be there to help support that decision, making your transition easy and positive.
The founder of the company believes that moving is more than just a physical process. Before you can effectively move on to another chapter in your life, in a new space, with new people, it’s important to change your mindset and your beliefs to align with your new situation. He believes one should ask themselves, “Do you believe you can do more, speak better, act better? If you don’t believe that first, you can’t make change”. The business acts as not only a moving company, but an emotional aid that helps to address the psychological challenges people face when making a change. Unfortunately, many people do not have this source of emotional support, people they can confide in but Moving Mountains U.S. was built to be that aid.
